San Sebastián is one of my favorite cities. It offers the students a completely different view of Spain. It is one of the northernmost cities, close to the French border, so we went from the campos of Valladolid in the central Castilla y Leon province, to the mountainous and green Provence of Navarre. San Sebastián is a thriving city on the ocean with gorgeous beaches and French - inspired architecture. It's also know for its culinary arts and on every street there are a multitude of bars serving a wide variety of pinxos- some of the most popular being a toast point with goat cheese and cartelized onions, and of course the fresh seafood such as prawns, squid, calamari and octopus!
A must-do in San Sebastian is to walk up Monte Urgell, which offers gorgeous views of the city and ocean.
Since we were so close to the french border, some kids decided to take a train to France!
Overall, the trip was a success and everyone had a great time in San Sebastian!
