This doesn't have anything to do with Valladolid, but I just HAD to post these pictures! While the students went to Barcelona, there was no use in me staying in Valladolid, so I decided to go to the Mediterranean sea. I went to Tarragona, Spain, which is a little south of Barcelona. Tarragona was a very large city during the Roman times, and the highlight of the city are the ruins of a Roman amphitheater built in 200 BC where the gladiators used to fight.
I then spent 2 days in Mallorca, which is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. What's great about Spain (and Europe) is that it is very easy and cheap to move throughout the country. You can take the bus or the train, and then they also have very cheap flights. You can pay less than 100 euros and arrive here in less than an hour...
While there, I also tried some of the typical and most famous Spanish dishes including pulpo gallego (Galician octupus), tortilla española and paella.
