While in Valladolid, we take advantage of our time there and go on many weekend and evening excursions.
After we did the Ruta de castillos, the following week we took the train to Avila. Avila is a small town surrounded by a medieval wall. We bought tickets to access the top of the walk, and the students got to walk around the wall, enjoying the views from above.
The university of Valladolid also organizes Saturday day-trips. Our first Saturday there, the students spent the day in Segovia. Some of the highlights of Segovia are the roman aqueducts- built in the 1st Century and still standing today.
